Please come learn about our new neighbors from around the globe who have recently moved to Vermont!
Meet Ahmad Shah, who arrived in Vermont from Afghanistan on April 22nd. He worked with generals in the US military as an interpreter.
Meet the Burmese Karen family of Mu Rie Chee. She and her son That He arrived in Vermont on April 29th and her daughter, Kyi Schwe, has been here since 2012. Everyone is looking forward to meeting you and will welcome your questions.
Laurie Stavrand, Volunteer Coordinator for the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, will facilitate the discussion. This is a chance for you to learn about the experiences of refugees newly arriving in Vermont, how they contribute to our culture and how you might be able to participate in this process.
As you do spring cleaning, please consider setting aside any warm outerwear you no longer use to bring to the evening.
