The ATHENA Leadership Award and ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recipients will be announced Saturday November 6th at the Capital Plaza in Montpelier, VT. A Gala hosted by the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the finalists and recipients of the Awards with an evening of dinner, music, dancing and social time.
The ATHENA Leadership Awards are named after the Greek Goddess Athena, who is known for her strength, wisdom, courage, and enlightenment. The focus of these awards is to recognize women who have taken risk, achieved excellence in their profession, and displayed outstanding leadership. The Athena model emphasizes the importance of nurturing relationships by mentoring and inspiring others. Whether it be in business, education, government or other public service, these awards recognize those achievements in women at a time when it is needed most.
The Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to attend the in-person Vermont ATHENA Awards Gala to recognize, honor and applaud these six finalists from across Vermont. Hear the stories of these six warriors who have succeeded professionally yet still find time to be champions of others, find value in volunteering in their communities, and have set other Vermont women on their path to becoming ATHENA leaders.
Guest speaker Mary Alice Mackenzie will provide her own insight and words of inspiration on how she became one of Vermont's most successful businesses and has dedicated herself to volunteer in mentoring of others and the community.
