On Sunday, October 17, RCAS will hold a Female Bird Walk - meaning we will be trying to identify female birds. Birders of all genders are welcome. We'll begin with a discussion of the visual, audible, and behavioral clues that distinguish female birds of some species (think of the orange band of the female Belted Kingfisher). Then we will put our observing skills to the test on a 2-mile walk. Meet at the West Rutland Marsh boardwalk on Marble Street, West Rutland, at 8 AM.
