On Saturday, October 16th at 2:00 PM at the Franklin Town Hall, Rick Winston, author of the recently published Red Scare in the Green Mountains: Vermont in the McCarthy Era, will give a presentation on some forgotten Vermont history. Winston will explain how a small, rural "rock-ribbed Republican" state with a historically libertarian streak handled the rabid anti-Communist hysteria of the 1950s. This talk is free, open to the public, and accessible to those with disabilities.
