Quilt Show in Middlebury

Quilting in the Land of Milk & Honey's sixth biennial quilt show is in Middlebury this weekend. The show will be open on Saturday, Oct. 9 (10 am to 5 pm), and Sunday, Oct. 10 (10 am to 3 pm) at the Middlebury Recreation Center, 154 Creek Road, Middlebury. The show will feature well over 200 quilts, and will showcase several art quilts by Jeanette Van Bueren, 62 art quilts from a national traveling exhibit entitled OURstory Quilts: Human Rights Stories in Fabric, a display of "Quilts of Valor" made for veterans and active-duty service members, and a sampling of Barn Quilts. There will also be holiday ornaments for sale to benefit MiddSummer Lunch and Recreation Program, quilts for sale to benefit Homeward Bound, a gift boutique, vendors, a basket raffle and a raffle quilt (need not be present to win). Lunch and refreshments will be available for purchase along with a bake sale. Admission is $7; children under 12 are free. Masks are required inside the building.
