Attend the new play, The Suffragist Reenactment Society, on Sunday, October 10, 2:00 p.m., at the Vergennes Opera House, 120 Main Street, Vergennes. Covering the period 1848-1920, the play is a fast-paced journey through the history of how women fought for and won the right to vote in the United States. This is one of only ten performances statewide.
About one hour in length, the play is appropriate for ages 12 and up. While there is no admission charge, tickets are recommended. Obtain tickets online at https://bit.ly/suffragistreenactment.

Patrons are required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test and wear face coverings while in the auditorium. In addition, seating is limited to 60% of its capacity.
Details: Vermont actors Kathryn Blume (Charlotte,) Sarah Mell (Winooski,) and Julia Sioss (Colchester) reenact the determination of suffragists from Susan B. Anthony to Ida B. Wells while addressing the complex interplay of race and gender in the suffrage movement, past and present. Commissioned by the Vermont Suffrage Centennial Alliance (VSCA), The Suffragist Reenactment Society is written by Mary Beth McNulty and directed by Laura Roald. VSCA is a project of the League of Women Voters of Vermont Education Fund.
