TONIGHT! VIRTUAL USFS PRESENTATION
Tonight at 6:30, the US Forest Service will host a virtual presentation about carbon dynamics in forests and natural lands. This event is a *direct result* of us voicing our concerns about the negative impacts of logging on forest carbon uptake and sequestration. The USFS is trying to push through a logging plan for the Telephone Gap area in the Green Mountain National Forest, and this meeting is a clear attempt to *"cover their butts"* and justify logging as a way to help the climate.
*Our forests need a strong turnout for this meeting! *Use this opportunity to voice your views about cutting down this unusually mature forest that is known to be a biodiversity hotspot. It is urgent for you to attend, to learn, and to raise your voice.
*When:* Tuesday, Oct. 5, 6:30 p.m. EDT

Also, hold *Saturday, Oct. 9* on your calendar for a USFS field visit about forest carbon. The Forest Service will identify the time and location at tonight's event. We'll be sure to share these details to you via email when we hear about them.
Spread the word and we hope to see you at both events!
