The Charleston planning commission has formed a subcommittee to explore the possibility of installing a solar array to help power our school, town offices, town garage and street lights. All subcommittee meetings and events are open to the public and we encourage anyone interested in the process to join us. On May 14, the subcommittee will be taking a field trip to Newport Center to learn the details about the solar array they have installed. On May 22, there will be a meeting at the Charleston town clerk's office with a solar installation professional to review their assessments of two potential sites.
