When my friend Dave approached me a few months ago about our band Turnip Truck playing as part of a spoken word event at Chandler, I didn't hesitate to agree to the gig. I love playing at Chandler! As the event draws near, I have found myself getting curious about what it will be like, and I am starting to get pretty psyched for the non-musical part of the evening as well.
If you haven't heard of the Vermont Almanac, here's a link to their website : https://vermontalmanac.org/ It's a yearly publication, and it looks really interesting. Stories From and For the Land. Authors from our area telling stories, sharing information. Seems pretty connected and connecting to me.
And Turnip Truck will be playing three 15 minute sets at the beginning, middle, and end of the evening. There's video of performances from earlier in the season on our Facebook page (search turniptruckband), and we'll be streaming one song live tonight at 9:00, which you can find by searching Facebook for andrew.mueller.1029
So, I encourage folks to come out for the reading. Tickets are through the Chandler website, and the pricing is "pay what you can" so don't let lack of dollars be a reason to stay home.
Also, there's going to be a market of vendors providing food, drink, and "Artful items". I'm looking forward to seeing what that means. . .
