Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society, joins Maddie's Fund Pet Adoption Days to empty our shelter! Homeward Bound is participating in a gigantic weekend adoption event to place all of our dogs and cats—free of charge-- into qualified homes. Homeward Bound is one of 12 shelters/rescues throughout Vermont participating in the fifth annual Maddie's Pet Adoption Days sponsored by the Pleasanton, CA based Maddie's Fund.
Maddie's Fund has set aside $10 million to provide shelters and rescue groups with an adoption stipend per pet adopted during the event. Stipends (covering the cost of the adoption and providing Homeward Bound with extra funding for operating our programs and services) range from $500 to $2,000 per animal adopted that weekend. Maddie's Pet Adoption Days is being held to increase awareness of homeless animals, boost adoptions, and support the shelters and rescue organizations in the participating communities. It is an amazing opportunity to give a loving home to a needy animal and make a generous donation to the shelter through the stipend Homeward Bound will receive when you adopt!
