It has been over a year since Jennifer passed away. I've struggled with finding the balance between wanting us to come together as a community to celebrate her life and the real risk of a COVID gathering. I had hoped we might hold a public event on the same day as the Starksboro harvest supper, but the Conservation Commission has cancelled the supper again this year. We have decided to go ahead with our event.
I invite you to come to the Robinson School on Saturday, November 6, at 2pm. to share some stories, a little food, and to gather for her and for us. We plan to meet outside, with the option of moving into the Multi-purpose room if the weather is really bad (by her standard, "bad" means sleet, snow, wind, below freezing), so be prepared to drag out your woolies. Food was very important to her, so we thought we'd honor that by suggesting you might bring something she often shared: bread, dilly beans, or pie. Or you can bring a contribution for the Food Shelf or Little Free Pantry. We'll fill in with something hearty and warm.
If you feel moved to speak (or recite or sing), let me know and I'll reserve a slot in the (loose) program. Solemnity and levity equally welcome. Otherwise, just come with your memories.
