You'll be able to buy plenty of gently used books as well as chances to win one of two delicious cookie platters at this weekend's Friends of the Aldrich Public Library book sale. Barre's best baker, Marilyn Blake, will offer two lucky winners their choice of 5 dozen cookies each in the raffle, which will be drawn on Monday, October 4. Tickets are available from now until Saturday, October 2, at 1 pm when the book sale ends.
The Friends still have many books stored here and there that they weren't able to put out for the past two sales. And donations keep coming in! The Friends will be having another sale in conjunction with the Barre Fall Festival on Friday, October 1, from 11 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday, October 2, from 10 am to 1 pm, in the Milne Room of the library at 6 Washington St., Barre.
Thousands of books and media for all ages will sell for as low as $1 for hardcover adult books, $0.50 to $1 for paperbacks depending on size, $0.50 for DVDs and other media, and $0.25 for all children's items. Please wear a mask. Due to the rise in COVID cases locally, we will need to restrict the number of people shopping at one time in order to encourage social distancing. Please bring a bag(s) to stock up on some good reading, listening, and viewing!
This will be the Friends' last sale until next spring. As always, we invite anyone interested in becoming a Friend of the Library to join us in the Milne Room at 4:00 pm on the last Tuesday of each month.
