In preparation for the upcoming panel presentation on Middle-Level education, we are seeking your input on questions you would like our panelists to address. The purpose of the panel presentation is to learn more about who middle school students are and what a successful middle school looks like today. Our panelists are prepared to speak to the research-based attributes and characteristics that define a successful middle school while also addressing the topics you most want to learn about.
Below is a belief statement crafted by some of our middle-level teachers that shows what they think about and care about in their work creating a successful middle school experience for our students. This statement can help get you thinking about the topics and questions you most want to know about. We have framed the questions around three broad topics in designing a successful middle school: Culture and Community, Teaching and Learning, and Leadership and Organization. We have added a fourth question to capture your questions that don't fit neatly into those three categories. Thanks in advance for your input.
We believe in:
• Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning community in which social and emotional skills are promoted
• Communicating and collaborating between students, parents, staff, and the greater community
• Putting the needs of students and middle school best practices at the forefront of our decisions
• Making decisions that are grounded in our community's current realities
Please complete the survey no later than Monday, October 4th. Thank you.
