The White River Craft Center is offering two great events this Saturday!

----Birch Bark Ornaments Workshop----
October 2, 1-5pm,

Enjoy the simple pleasure of creating a decoration or gift from materials responsibly harvested on the instructor's Northeast Kingdom farm. Utilizing techniques common to the Scandinavian and Russian style of basketry, you will craft birds and stars using strips of inner bark from the paper birch tree. Included is a discussion on how these materials are harvested and prepared. Outside, weather permitting!

------Open Studio Weekend-----
October 2, 10am-2pm
Free, open to the public

The White River Craft Center is participating in the Fall Open Studio Weekend organized by the Vermont's Craft Council, October 2nd 10-2pm.

The White River Craft Center's first and second floors will offer a taste of our craft and art activities throughout the day!

On the 1st floor, Rug Hooker Studio Artist, Fern Strong will be demonstrating her craft in our lounge. The lounge Gallery will feature work by Studio Artist, Jack Rowell, who has new artwork on view at a special WRCC rate. Our Main Gallery features our new exhibition, Art of Resilience: Celebrating Creativity in Mental Health, Wellness and Recovery. A show in partnership with The Clara Martin Center, showcasing a diversity of art forms by area Vermont artists.

The second floor studios will be open with our Friday Weavers Group who will be busy at their looms, welcoming visitors to see their creations and learn more about the craft.
