Veterans are invited to join members of the Will Miller Green Mountain Veterans For Peace, Chapter 57 for a discussion of the book Lieutenant Dangerous, A Vietnam War Memoir by Jeff Danziger.
Danziger's opening sentence in his book, "It has now been more than forty-years since my tour in Vietnam in the army, a period of time in which I thought I would think about the war less and less. The opposite is true." And later. "As time goes on and I get older, I am more haunted by my own history. What the Vietnam war meant is still a mystery."
Many Vermonters, veterans or not, may be thinking the same thing, as the US processes it's departure from Afghanistan. His memoir motivates one to consider where the US stands today, given its history of military engagement since Vietnam.
The discussion will by Zoom on Monday, October 25, from 7:00 to 8:00PM.
