Come share your ideas! The Wheelock Town Hall Accessibility Project Committee invites you to a community meeting Sept. 27, 6 - 7:30pm, Wheelock Town Hall. The meeting will be outside, in a tent and with other Covid precautions. Announcements were mailed 9/10 to all 315 Wheelock households. First, our project consultants Brandy Saxton, Place Sense, Outreach; Chris Kennedy, MAKE Architects; and Paul Simon, VISCC Construction Consultants will present two design concepts ("make it better" and "new facility"). These options were preferred by 80 Wheelock residents in the May survey. The second half of the meeting will be response and discussion. Jenna Koloski, VT Council on Rural Development will facilitate, to ensure that all ideas are welcomed and every voice is heard. Broad participation is essential to guide next steps towards a fully accessible Town Hall, to meet the Town's obligations with the U.S. Department of Justice. There will also be opportunities for people to contribute more comments and ideas, up until October 17.
