The Town of Monkton Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization caucus at 6:30 on Thursday September 23rd at the new Town Offices and remotely via Zoom. Zoom meeting ID is 8024533800 with password of 1762.
Town committees are the roots of democracy, allowing Vermonters to connect with their community, respond to local issues, hold their legislators accountable, and prepare for vital elections.
There's lots of ways to participate as a town committee member. Besides the four town committee officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer), other positions include: delegates/alternates to the county committee and chairs for any town sub-committees that are created. Also, after holding meetings, planning and hosting events are one of the main purposes of town committees! There are a variety of types of events that towns can plan, from social gatherings to issue based forums.
