Karuna Community Meditation at Jenna's House on Sundays!

Ever wanted to learn how to meditate? Or perhaps you already have meditation practice, and want to practice with others? Come join Karuna Community Meditation, which is every Sunday, from 10-11:15 AM.

Who: open and welcoming to people of all backgrounds and identifications. Total beginners and experienced meditation practitioners equally welcome.

What: guided meditation and mindfulness practices in many forms including walking meditation, sitting meditation, practices for increasing awareness of the body, and meditations focused on compassion and lovingkindness.

When: every Sunday from 10-11:15 AM

Where: Jenna's House, 117 St. Johns Road, Johnson (wheelchair-accessible)

Why: A regular meditation practice can reduce stress and increase happiness, calm and wellbeing. It can also be a pathway to a fuller life, to deeper spiritual engagement and better ways of being in relationship with other humans, with the hope of liberation for the self and others.

Cost: all sessions are offered freely, with donations accepted

The group is led by Molly Zapp, who began practicing meditation 16 years ago, mostly in the Buddhist vipassana/ insight tradition. Molly is currently training to become a mindfulness meditation teacher.

Sessions will be inside, with plenty of space to spread out. Unvaccinated people will be required to wear masks; vaccinated people may do as they feel comfortable. Vaccinations are strongly encouraged.

Feel free to bring your own cushion or mat; we have some for community use as well.

It's helpful, but not required, if you email in advance to sign up: mollyzapp@live.com. Or just show up! Please feel free to email Molly Zapp with any questions.
