“A mom of three young children stopped by the Do Good Cupboard and allowed each one of her children to pick one item from the cupboard,” wrote one of the volunteers who maintains the Do Good Cupboard on Barre Street in Montpelier, "It was heartbreaking but made me hopeful that we're making a difference."
The cupboard is replenished with essentials 4-5 times a week and each time volunteers check the cupboard they are finding it nearly empty, quickly depleting its backstock of items.
You can help in the fight against hunger. On Tuesday September 21st , National Life will host a "stock the shelves" drive from 11am-1pm outside its Main Lobby at One National Life Drive.
Bring nonperishable food items such as canned fruits and veggies, tuna, chicken, peanut butter, rice, pasta mixes, protein bars, and quick instant meals. Personal hygiene products, diapers, wipes, and toiletries are also needed.
