Presented by the Vermont Blues Society, produced by Jo Sabel Courtney, John Lupien, Town & Country, and Rocket 88 Records.

Mud City Vermont resident John Fusco is best known as the veteran Hollywood screenwriter and filmmaker behind iconic movies ‘Young Guns’, ‘Thunderheart’, ‘Hidalgo’, ‘The Highwaymen’, and the Academy Award-nominated ‘Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.’
In recent years, Fusco has returned to the musical roots of his very first movie ‘Crossroads’ — and to his background as a singer-songwriter —recording two acclaimed albums and performing sold out shows with his band The X-Road Riders.
Fusco brings his music and filmmaking together for "Blues to the ‘Bone", an outdoor concert to benefit the Lamoille Community House, which offers shelter, security and hope to people experiencing homelessness.
Legendary jazz trombonist Sarah Morrow returns to Stowe to rejoin the band. ‘The ‘Bone Doctor’ as Sarah is known in jazz-blues circles, was the first ever female member of the Ray Charles Orchestra and was also the band leader for Dr. John.
Opening will be Burlington’s own DonnCherie and the Maple Run Band, and MC's are Rusty Dewees and Mister Charlie of WIZN’s Blues for Breakfast radio.
Fusco fronts on lead vocals and Hammond B3, while Morrow leads a horn section comprised of young Vermonters Josh Clinger, Bradley ‘Baby J’ Jewett, and Dan Alario.
Southern rock guitarists Kurt Pierson and Jared Wigget round out a rhythm section that features Spencer Perry on drums and Denny Diego on bass.
Adding to the New Orleans ‘medicine show’ feel of Fusco’s band is Brickett Bailey and a gospel-style choir featuring Vermont locals Cassandra Machia, Julia Simons, and Rosalie Wasser.
This will be a live recorded and filmed event.
