I like a nice grassy green lawn as much as the next person, but... It's time to make the Town's grassy lawns behind the Police Station and Fire Station something more! Help us design this space on Saturday. Drop by anytime between 11am-1pm.

It's part design exercise and part game. We'll have a poster-size map of the space with "playing pieces" that represent various types of improvements - e.g., gazebo, shade trees, benches, flower gardens, picnic tables, parking, etc. Small groups will have 15 minutes to place improvements on the map in order to design the park. We will photograph each group's design, and compare (and hopefully share) all the designs in the coming weeks.

Thanks to a grant from the VT Natural Resources Council, we will be providing a free buffet lunch with tasty specialty items from several Hinesburg restaurants and Lantman's Market.

Bring your ideas. Bring your family and friends. Bring your appetite. And if you'd like to make it a picnic lunch, bring a blanket or a lawn chair. With your help, we hope to have something more than a grassy lawn to sit on in 2022! If it's sprinkling, we'll still be there. If it's a downpour, the event will be moved to the Town Hall.
