Why drop more than a thousand golf balls from a helicopter? Just for the fun of it and to watch someone, maybe even you, win $1,000 or other cash prizes. Even more importantly it's also to raise money for the Fire and Rescue Services of each of our three towns. The combined number of calls they responded to last year was 2,100. Remember that those services are provided by our neighbors who volunteer their time and abilities.
The Charlotte-Shelburne-Hinesburg Rotary Club will give you the opportunity to watch this coming Saturday morning after 10 am. Where? At the Kwini Club Driving Range on Spear Street.
Buy a ball and be the happy winner of $1,000 if it's closest to the 'pin.' Then there are two prizes ($500 and $250) for the next two closest. The farthest will net the ball owner a basket full of golf goodies and Vermont products. There's also a 'Longest Drive' contest with the winner getting a one-year membership in the Kwini Club (a value of $450).
