The Guilford Conservation Commission is hosting a walk on Sunday, September 19 at 9:30 AM. We will be using the Sweet Pond Trail in Sweet Pond State Park. The hike is 1.3 miles long and is considered an easy loop although there is a section that is uphill for a bit. We will be starting at the Sweet Pond State Park parking area and looping around to the newly constructed dam. From there you may retrace your steps or walk on the road back to the parking area.
The area was settled by non- native peoples in 1777 by the Franklin family. They farmed there for more than 150 years. The Franklin cemetery is a short walk from the parking area which you may want to explore.
Questions? You may call me or e-mail me. Hope to see you on Sunday.
