A friend of mine volunteers for a local non-profit that holds an annual bicycle and sewing machine collection in Burlington. The non-profit, Pedals for Progress, sends the bicycles overseas to developing countries to make them available to communities as affordable transportation. The sewing machines, also sent overseas, are used for income generation.

The collection this year is on Saturday, Sept. 25, 8:30 am - 1 pm at the Burton Store, 266 Queen City Park Rd, Burlington. They ask for a $15 donation (which is entirely tax deductible) to offset shipping. They also need volunteers at the Collection. Great community service opportunity for any teens you may know.
