The Richmond Water and Sewer Commission has been discussing a proposed expansion of the sewer system into the Gateway District. This would expand the current sewer system from its current terminus near the intersection of Baker St. and West Main St. westerly along West Main St., up to and including the Riverview Commons Mobile Home Park.
In order to expand the sewer system into the Gateway District a vote to expand the district and a bond vote for the project is still needed. Before proceeding with either vote the Commission would like to receive feedback from residents and property owners in the proposed expansion area. If the system is expanded buildings in the expansion area would have to connect to the public sewer system.
The Water and Sewer Commission is holding a meeting on Monday, September 13, 2021 to review the project. At this meeting, the Commission would like feedback from residents and property owners in the proposed expansion area regarding their thoughts and questions on the proposed expansion and the costs associated with the expansion.
