Vermont Studio Centers is pleased to host a special featured reading and conversation with Torrey Peters, author of Detransition, Baby, and VSC alum and writer Naomi Gordon-Loebl. This one hour event is free and open to the public and will be hosted live via Zoom.

Torrey Peters is the author of the bestselling novel Detransition, Baby (Random House, 2021), which was longlisted for the Women’s Prize and was a Roxane Gay’s Audacious Book Club Pick. She is also the author of the novellas Infect Your Friends and Loved Ones and The Masker. Peters holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth. She splits her time between Brooklyn and an off-grid cabin in Vermont.

Naomi Gordon-Loebl is a writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s, Complex, Out, The Nation, and elsewhere. Formerly, she was the research editor and internship director at The Nation magazine. She is the recipient of residencies and fellowships from the Puffin Foundation, Lambda Literary, Monson Arts, the Studios at Key West, and the Vermont Studio Center. Before working in journalism, she spent five years as a teacher and youth development professional, helping people who had left school to complete their high school equivalency diplomas. She was born, raised, and still lives in Brooklyn.
