Posting in accordance with 17 VSA 2303: Please join the Barre Town Democratic Committee for our semi-annual reorganization caucus.

Aldrich Public Library, 6 Washington Street (in the tents outside, please bring a lawn chair if possible)
We will gather in order to elect members and officers for our town committee as well as county delegates to the Washington County Democratic Committee.
We'll also re-affirm our commitments to each other and to our community, and get energized while discussing some fall events and plans.

For those interested in attending but not sure you want to make the commitment, it may help for you to know a little bit more about what it means to be an elected member of the city committee. By officially joining the committee, you become a voting member in future decisions that include choosing officers, nominating candidates to be Justices of the Peace, nominating Democratic candidates in the case of needed replacements to an elected office, deciding on future actions including planning events, expending funds, and other similar activities.
You don't need to be an elected member of the committee in order to attend meetings, so if you're just curious about who we are and what we do you are always welcome to reach out (barredemocrats@gmail.com) or attend any meeting.
Please note that you must be a registered voter in Barre Town in order to be elected to the committee, and you cannot belong to any other party's committee at the same time. If you're not yet a registered voter, you can do so at the meeting!
