Musical Fundraiser for Haiti Earthquake Recovery Sept. 22

Past event

Hi Neighbors,

My band The Fog is playing a benefit concert at Burlington's City Hall Park on 9/22 to raise money for the victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.   The country has been struggling for decades already with widespread poverty, and recently, political unrest has made things much worse.  Then on August 14th a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck, killing thousands and leaving many more with serious injuries and untold numbers of people have completely lost their homes.

My non-profit organization, The Solar SEED Project, has been supporting several communities in Haiti for some time now, with solar installations on schools and medical clinics, where electricity is not otherwise available.   The epicenter of the earthquake was just a few miles from one of our installations, in the rural community of Duchity.  Many homes were destroyed and people are still unable to get the medical help they need.

The benefit concert will raise money for the people of Duchity. We've partnered with Vermont Haiti Project to organize the event and ensure that the money we raise goes directly to the people who need it the most, and for the best use possible.

We hope you can make it to the benefit concert at City Hall Park on 9/22.  It will start at 2pm and go until 7pm.  The stage will be solar powered and we will have information about our work in Duchity.  The event is free and open to the public but we encourage everyone to make a donation.   If you are unable to make it there, please consider making a donation online.   Feel free to contact me with any questions.
