Learn the basics of wood-burning. From the range of tools and techniques to what can be achieved in this medium. From outlining, shading and adding color to pieces. Also a short talk on how wood grain and different species determines a wood burn. By the end of the class each participant should have a work of art to be proud of.
Wolf Whitney (she/her) is a self taught wood carver and an apprenticing stone sculptor. Wolf studied at the Vermont Woodworking School and also dabbles in mixed media arts.
After leaving active duty in the U.S Army she moved to Vermont to pursue a simple life. Little did she know that this move would inspire her to start creating art. Surrounded by rolling fields and granite mountains, Wolf became enamored with the idea of creating by destroying. Carving in any material is simply that. You remove pieces of the raw material to make it something beautiful.
