Thursday morning on Central Vermont Community Radio:
9:00 - 10:00 am
In the face of spiking Covid infection rates in Vermont, Brattleboro's selectboard passed a mandate that local businesses that allow in members of the public must require everyone to wear masks indoors. Governor Phil Scott blocked that from going into effect. East Montpelier's selectboard considered a similar mandate, and backed off after local businesses expressed opposition. Brattleboro town administrator Peter Elwell and East Montpelier selectboard member/Relocalizing Vermont host Carl Etnier will discuss both the reasons behind mask mandates and the larger issues of local versus state control on health issues.
The charming bicycle ride around Addison County farms, known as Tour de Farms, is happening again this year, on Saturday, September 18. It's sponsored by ACORN, the Addison County Relocalization Network. We'll talk with director Lindsey Berk about the tour, an app they have developed to help people find local food, and other initiatives.
