All are welcome to participate in free oral history training this Saturday, September 11, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Lunch will be provided.
The training is being done by the Vermont Folklife Center and is part of the Moore Free Library's Community Memory Project. This is a two-year grant funded project that is making digital recordings of interviews with community members past and present in Newfane, Williamsville, South Newfane, Brookside and Brookline. To listen to some of the recordings made by community members so far, please visit www.communitymemory.moorefreelibrary.org
This training will be held outside if possible, but if weather is inclement, it will be held inside the Union Hall in Newfane Village. To register or to find out more, please call the library at 365-7948.
There will be another training on Saturday, October 2nd, again from the VT Folklife Center, that will be focused on using the technology tools to edit audio, transcribe recordings, and put the audio up on the project web site.
