Learning Exchange: Let's Talk About Pollinators!

Past event
May 11, 2014

On behalf of The Collective here:

Did you know that Honey Bees are not native to the Americas? There are literally thousands of active pollinators outside the narrow spectrum of Learning Exchange: Let's Talk About Pollinators! (Not Just Honey Bees..)

Honey Bees, which most of us are at least somewhat familiar with.

But.. who are our Native Pollinators? With all the talk of Honey Bees, what do these other little helpers need to thrive?

Join us for a meal and an open discussion about different kinds of pollinators, how to help them help your garden, and anything else we are able to cover on this topic in the time we have together. Bring your notes/books/questions, some food if you are into the potluck thing, and a willingness to share and learn together. No experience is necessary, this is a simple topic, and we're all beginners, so let's have some fun, right? This discussion group does also need some more plant knowledgeable, so do join if you feel you might have something to share.

Of course we will also talk about Honey Bees (how could we not?!) - Being a Bee Haver, simple methods and effective practices for non-invasive and supportive relationships with these amazing creatures.

Check out the best (Warre) hives in the world (seriously!), you can see and poke at them, learn about how you can welcome in (catch?) swarms, and enjoy this fantastic experience available to us Right Here and Right Now.

Come and consider that this fantastic experience could be much more attainable than you may have ever realized!

WHEN: two opportunities in the coming week (this is the time to act!), Sunday 5/11, 2 - 4 PM, and Thursday, 5/15 4 - 7PM - contact to sync up on the details!

Thank you for the mind share, Silver Moon
