This course introduces the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) and is designed for students with no or minimal sign language to develop basic skills in use of ASL and knowledge of Deaf Culture. Emphasis is upon acquisition of comprehension, production and interactional skills using basic grammatical features. Homework will be assigned to help you progress with ease.
Requirement: Students will need to purchase, prior to class, the workbook, "Signing Naturally: Student Workbook Unit 1-6," by Cheri Smith.
