Rumor has it that a Dragon may be flying over Northfield early in the morning on Saturday, September 18th and leaving some eggs behind. Join the Brown Public Library as we participate in this year's Great Dragon Egg Hunt as part of the Sherburne Memorial Library's Vermont Fairy Tale Festival. Beginning at 9 am on Saturday, the 18th, Northfield kids are invited to search for Dragon Eggs in the following locations: The Dog River Park, Memorial Park, the Northfield Falls Park, and the Brown Public Library. Found Dragon Eggs should be brought back to the library to receive a small prize. One lucky Dragon Egg finder will win the Grand Prize: a fantastic Folkmanis Dragon Puppet gifted to us by the Vermont Fairy Tale Festival. One big rule: ONLY 1 DRAGON EGG PER CHILD. Once you have found an egg please leave the rest for other participants to find. No registration is required, just join the hunt and then bring your egg back to the library to find out what you have won. We will be here from 9 am - 2 pm on the 18th to redeem found eggs. The Dragon Egg Hunt will last until all the eggs are found. When this happens we will make an announcement via our Facebook page. NO registration is required to join the hunt.
We are still looking for a few more 4th grade or older volunteers to help us make the Dragon Eggs. This entails coming to the library for two one hour long work sessions on Thursday, the 9th and Thursday, the 16th. Please contact bplyouthlib@gmail.com if your child is interested in helping to make the Dragon Eggs.
