Climate Change Impacts in Field to Forest
Date: Saturday, September 25th
Time: 9 AM - 11 AM
Location: Hubbard Recreation & Natural Area (formally known as the Underwood Parcel)
Led by: Dr. Annise Dobson, postdoctoral researcher, Yale School of Environment
This hike will cover the impacts of climate change on ecological communities in Vermont and beyond. We will visit the study site at the Hubbard Recreation & Natural Area (formally known as Underwood) and discuss how we use the common food chain of goldenrod, grasshoppers, and spiders to understand how climate change affects food webs around the globe. We will have a chance to learn about how the inhabitants of the field and forest interact with each other. Bring your bug catching nets if you have them!
