Stowe Vibrancy's season finale of the Main Street Live is this Thursday, September 2nd with Bill Pierce of the Jazz Messengers as our guest artist with Vermont Jazz Trio on the Village Green from 5-8 pm.
Bill Pierce is a recently retired professor of jazz and woodwinds at Berkeley College of Music in Boston. He is busier than ever playing jazz festivals and engagements throughout New England. As a leader, he has many fine straight-ahead albums under his name. As a sideman, he is one of the few musicians to have played with Art Blakely and the Jazz Messengers in the '80s, and the Tony Williams Quintet of the '90s, culminating in the epic recording for Blue Note Records, 'Live in Tokyo'. A former bandmate of the likes of Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Bill Pierce is a living piece of jazz history, and an inspiring player, a living legend.
This is a free concert that is not to be missed! In case of inclement weather please keep an eye out for a venue change with updated posts on our FB page.
