Used Bike and Sewing Machine Collection

Past event
Sep 25, 2021, 8:30 AM to 1 PM

For the last 21 years Joanne and I have worked with the The Green Mountain Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Pedals for Progress collecting used bikes and sewing machines for use in developing countries. Over 4000 bikes and 600 sewing machines have been shipped from Vermont in those years.

So if you have bikes or sewing machines gathering dust in your closet or garage, we can find a good home and a new life for your cherished items that will help struggling families in communities around the world build a more secure life.

Preparing these items for shipment takes some labor. We welcome students looking for community service hours or anyone who wants to just lend a hand.

Bring your bike or sewing machine, plus $15 per item to help with international shipping costs, to:
Friday, September 24, 3 pm to 7 pm. National Life, Montpelier
Saturday, September 25, 8:30 am to 1 pm. Burton factory, Queen City Park Road, Burlington
