Prepare to be a Paraeducator

Local paraeducator and veteran adult education instructor Jennifer Theroux helps prepare paraeducators for the many job opportunities in our region. Class includes an introduction to the diverse role of paraeducators in the classroom: how services are provided, inclusion, collaborative teaming, instructional strategies, and supporting students with challenging behaviors. This course meets in person at NCCC for the first class; all subsequent classes use Google Meet online. A device with video and sound is required.
* For students who want to be employed as paraeducators and need to take the ParaPro exam (those who have not completed 48 college credits), a test study guide will be provided, and academic support is available at no charge at NEKLS. Exam fee coverage may be available.)
