Artists in the Gardens Exhibition at Canfield Gallery
Arlington's Canfield Gallery will present a special reception and art exhibition featuring works created by many of the region's leading Plein Air artists on Saturday, August 28th.
The exhibition will include the works created by nine artists who painted scenes of spectacular gardens during Arlington's Town and Country Garden Tour last month. Organized as a community celebration of artistic and horticultural beauty, the event was a collaboration between the Arlington Garden Club and the Canfield Gallery at the Martha Canfield Library.
Artists featured in the event are George Van Hook, Cynthia Rosen, Ned Reade, Rose Klebes, Helen Young, Judy Cotter, Rachel Barlow, Kate Franklin and Beth Hildick-Smith. Some of the most spectacular gardens in the region were included on the Tour, including East Arlington's Rogerland and the Seven Springs Sculpture Garden at Turkey Hill Farm in Manchester. During the day, over 200 visitors toured the gardens, meeting the artists and enjoying the community spirit and lovely summer weather.
The reception on August 28th should be a festive gathering of the region's art community, in the first opening at the Canfield Gallery since the pandemic. The exhibit will be open for viewing from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a special artist reception from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. All works will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds helping to fund programming at the Martha Canfield Library. The exhibit and reception are open to the public and refreshments will be served. For more information, go to marthacanfieldlibrary.org/canfield-gallery
