"The 39 Steps" Play Reading to kick off the MCP winter production

2:00pm on Sunday, August 29

Location to be provided on RSVP.

The Middlebury Community Players plan to bring this comedy to the Town Hall Theater stage in February 2022. This reading of the play will allow potential actors to find out more about it, and for all of us to have some fun!

The play will be directed by Dr. Gary Gillen, who directed MCP's hilarious production of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" in fall 2019.

In "The 39 Steps," four actors play all roles to create the themes and characters of Alfred Hitchcock's ground-breaking spy masterpiece movie of 1935. It is both a spoof and homage to all the elements of spy movies that would become cliches used by others for decades. Fast-paced and fun! Auditions will be November 20 & 21, with rehearsals beginning on December 12. Performances will be February 11-13, 2022.

All attendees at the play reading on Aug. 29th must provide proof of vaccination from Covid-19. We will follow all current recommendations of the Vermont Dept. of Health, which may include masking and social distancing.

To RSVP to attend the play reading, or with questions, please email info@middleburycommunityplayers.org, or leave a message at 802-388-7432.
