This summer: Torrential rainstorms and Hot and Humid in Richmond
This past week (from the Guardian Weekly, August 20th):
Torrential rain and floods in Japan, China and Turkey;
Wildfires in the West, in Turkey, Italy, Algeria, Russia and Greece;
Record temperatures in Oregon and Washington State, Algeria, Tunisia and Italy;
Hurricanes in Mexico, Caribbean and New England coast;

The latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is a wake-up call, again. "Landmark U.N. report delivers stark warning on climate change, says it's 'code red for humanity'" (https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/09/ipcc-report-un-climate-report-delivers-starkest-warning-yet.html)

What should Richmond's priorities be for substantial action?
- Pressure the Vermont Climate Council for substantial change?
- Promote energy efficiency though the Richmond Planning Commission?
- Inspire for change at the Climate Change Art Exhibit this September?
- Cut the 40% of our carbon emissions from transportation?
- Change to electric vehicles and eBikes (the new Richmond Police Cruiser will be electric!)

All are welcome at this week's Zoom meeting - Thursday, August 26th, 7 pm.
