Many of us are familiar with those famous resins of antiquity: frankincense and myrrh. Yet the forests of the North Woods are also full of aromatic resins, inviting healing relationship with the very place we call home. Meet the fragrant fir tree, the noble white pine and their resins. Join herbalist Rose Fairley of Becoming Medicine at the beautiful Lone Rock Farm campus of the Marshfield School of Weaving and adjacent woodlands where we will acquaint ourselves with the fragrant fir trees, learn about gathering resin with care + respect, and burn each resin together in ceremony. $45 if you sign up by September 10th. Space is limited. 9am-12pm on Saturday, September 18th.
Working with recipes from antiquity, Rose makes incense from the plants of the forests, fields, cities and coasts wherever she calls home. Last year she made a Lone Rock Farm blend entirely from plants found on site at the Marshfield School of Weaving including Kate's famous blueberries, lavender from the garden, and balsam fir resin from the woods.
