Vermont's Dixie Six is a band well-loved by Island Arts' audiences, and the group is well-known in the greater Burlington music scene. The six Vermont musicians focus on the sound and repertoire of Louis Armstrong's All Stars of the 1950's and 1960's. Though retaining a traditional Dixie feel, the band's updated rhythm section gives a new energy to New Orleans classics and mid-century standards.
