Natural dyeing is a wonderful way to give new life to old textiles, add plant-based colors to creative projects, and to appreciate the beauty of the plants themselves. I'm presenting a botanical dyeing workshop outdoors in my garden on October 3rd at 11am using a variety of homegrown flowers and herbs - we'll walk through the step-by-step process of preparing the fibers, creating a dye bath, and imparting color onto fabric using a few different techniques.
Some fabric will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring their own small textiles to dye (nothing larger than a shirt please!) as long as they are made from 100% or close to 100% cotton, linen, hemp, silk, wool, or other naturally-derived fiber (synthetic fibers will not absorb plant dyes).
The cost of this workshop is $20 per person. Since it is taking place at my home in Waltham, VT, the address will be shared privately with participants after they sign up.
