The Baldwin Library will host a storytime at the Veterans Park on Halls Lake on Thursday, August 19 at 10 am. Polly Rouhan, who lives near the lake and who is active in the Halls Lake Association and its efforts to keep the water free of invasives, will be our reader and educator. Come get acquainted with the real monsters in the lake – they may not be what you think!
This program is inspired by the #LibrariesLoveLakes project, a partnership between NE GLEON (Global Lake Ecological Observation Network), the Finger Lakes Institute at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (Geneva, NY), Faifield University (Fairfield, CT) and local libraries.
A second Libraries Love Lakes program will be at Ticklenaked Pond in Ryegate on Monday, August 23 at 10 am, when we will learn about loons and how to protect them. Contact the library for more details: 802-757-2693 or librarian@baldwinlibraryvt.org.
