UVM Extension Master Gardener State (Virtual) Conference
The Garden as a Place of Collaboration, Stewardship and Connection.

November 5 & 6 2021.

Speakers include:

Dr. Fred Wiseman is a Missisquoi Abenaki, an ethnobotanist, and retired professor and former department chair of Humanities at Johnson State College. He researches the crops, agriculture, and cuisine of the Wabanaki region.

Chief Don Stevens of the Nulhegan Abenaki helped lead the fight for state recognition for the Abenaki people of Vermont

Michael Phillips practices organic, regenerative agriculture at Heartsong Farm and Lost Nation Orchard. He is the author of The Holistic Orchard and Mycorrhizal Planet.

Travis Reynolds is Assistant Professor at the UVM Gund Institute; his expertise is institutional economics, agricultural development and food policy. His most recent work is on Vermont's food system.

Ari Rockland-Miller has lead hundreds of lectures and workshops on wild
and cultivated mushrooms and edible plants. He is co-founder of The Mushroom Forager, LLC

Ellen Ecker Ogden is an artist, chef, gardener, and writer. Her most recent book is The New Heirloom Garden (Rodale 2021).
