Berlin Historical Society

All Historical Societies are not the same. Some are more active and probably more visable than others. We have one special annual event in May where we have a potluck and then a special program. This year Howard Coffin spoke to us about the Civil War and Berlins and all the other communities in Vermonts’ participation with a pretty good turnout. We also commemorated the 250th anniversary of our Charter with a special cancelled envelope and an open house on June 8.

We are fortunate to have a permanent space in a very visible location where we can work with our files, both paper and on our computer. We are also fortunate that we have some financial resources due to the generosity of past members. We have hundreds of family files and hundreds of pictures to go with them. We are an important resource in our community and for those doing genealogical research about their families.

Join us at our next meeting on August 28 and learn about what we do and how you can help. A notice of that meeting with its tentative agenda will be here on the Front Porch Forum.
