Jerry Schneider will be at the Dorset Library to present bats on Friday August 13th at 3pm! This presentation is part of our summer reading program and will be held outside (unless the heat is too extreme, then we will move the program to the basement with air purifiers and masks for those who want to wear them). All ages are welcome and you do not have to be participating in summer reading to attend!
Learn all about bats; how they help maintain a healthy environment, what they eat, echolocation, migration and hibernation. We will also learn about exotic bats (like the vampire bat!) as well as local varieties and listen to bat echolocation calls that are slowed down through a bat detector.
If you'd like to participate in the craft, bring a cotton t-shirt or one can be purchased for $4 at the program!
