Past event
Aug 14, 2021

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, the Chimney Point State Historic Site offers a program postponed from 2020 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Weather permitting the Suffrage Auto Tour with several antique cars, touring weekends in August in the Lake Champlain region, comes to the area. A few automobiles will travel from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, where there is morning programming, and arrive at Chimney Point about 12:30. Personages from the past also will be on hand from noon to 3:00 pm to talk with people about the contributions and challenging lives of some of the early French and Vermont women here, and provide some show and tell. See also the Lake Champlain Heritage Partnership suffrage history exhibit panels.

Try your hand at turning the crank for home-made ice cream; enjoy a sample while the ice cream lasts. Sponsored in part by funding provided by Lake Champlain Heritage Partnership. Call 802-759-2412 for details. Outside activities are free, donations appreciated. To visit the museum, the fee is $5.00 for adults and free for children under 15.
