Celebrating the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival's 28th summer season at Chandler Music Hall, the first five performers have arrived in Randolph for their annual 2-week residency.
Tomorrow Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM, as a special free Concert for Community, veteran Festival pianist Adrienne Kim will perform J.S. Bach's piano concerto #5. She will be accompanied by a string quintet made up of 2 violinists, a viola, a cello, and a string bass.
A Saturday evening concert at 7:30 PM offers two rich and romantic works never before heard at the Festival -- a trio for violin, viola, and piano by Robert Fuchs and a piano quintet by Giuseppe Martucci --, separated by the beloved Schubert Quartettsatz last heard on a festival program in 1995.
The public can get a free taste of the Saturday concert at an open rehearsal at Chandler on Thursday, beginning at 7:00 PM. Everyone young and old is invited to quietly come and go at this rehearsal, to experience how musicians prepare for their concerts.
